The First Saudi Budgerigar Association Exhibition – 2026
The first annual Budgerigar Exhibition was launched at the Equestrian Sports City at King Faisal University in Al-Ahsa on January 9, 2026. The event was organized by the Saudi Budgerigar Association under the supervision of the Cooperative Society for Livestock Wealth, and was attended by a distinguished group of specialists and budgerigar breeding enthusiasts.
The exhibition received official patronage from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, with the participation of the Association’s President and its members. It is considered the first event of its kind, reflecting the growing interest in budgerigar breeding in the Kingdom.
The exhibition witnessed wide participation from hobbyists and breeders from several Arab countries (Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, and Syria), in addition to 70 Saudi breeders and more than 420 birds. The presence of specialized international judges raised the level of competition.
The event was also distinguished by the participation of productive families and handicraft owners in support of local initiatives. It concluded with the honoring of sponsors, supporters, and winners, while emphasizing the Association’s goal of raising awareness of the budgerigar hobby, supporting local production, and enhancing the level of Saudi breeders toward self-sufficiency and global competitiveness.
